Oops !

I'm sorry I have been a really bad blogger and crafter recently, I have a beautiful new boyfriend in my life which trying to see him and all my friends has left me without much time! Good news is his mum is a keen sewer and will hopefully be teaching me how to put a good zip into a project! Bad news is I also start a full time job in 2 weeks, leaving me with even less time, really missing crafting though deffinately going to leave a day or 2 free for it soon!

Sorry :(

Sorry I have been such a bad blogger and crafter recently I have spent the past 2 weeks working the Manchester leg of the Take That Progress tour so not really had much time to do anything else. I had one day off in the 2 weeks which I didn't have anything to do so I did make this:

Quite enjoying decorating photoframes, also this was a sample one for the my universitys stitch society.

If anybody likes it a lot and feels like they need it feel free to buy it here ;)

Fabric Basket

I thought for my next post I would post a cute little fabric basket. I found the tutorial on somebody else's blog but unfortunately cant remember where I found it, if its yours feel free to comment so I can credit you :)

The only downside I found to this pattern was that I thought it was going to be bigger, but none the less its great for holding my tiny scraps of fabric :)

work in progress ....

Sorry I have been a bad blogger this week, I have been so busy!
So to make up for the lack of posts I thought I would show you a couple of things I have been working on over this past week.

First up if a make up case from the book Quilting in no time by Emma Hardy. I like this book the projects are nice and the instructions are really easy to follow. This is the 2nd project I have made from that book, the first being a bag that I will blog about soon :)

As you can see I am terrible at zips so if anybody could give me advice it would be very welcome!

Awful zip!!

The lining that I am yet to sew in, after the disastrous zip I lost patience with this bag, hopefully will find the will power to finish it soon!

Next up is a patchwork shopping bag that I have been working on. The pattern came from the 2011 handbag special of popular patchwork magazine

So far I have only done the outside patchwork for the bag. I'm probably going to buy some new matching material for the handles and other bits, so just waiting to get some money :)

Squidly Dudley

Two of my favourite crochet books are super cute crochet and super super cute crochet both are by Brigitte Read. They have patterns for all kinds of cute animals to crochet, the patterns are reasonably simple and give a great result.

Just thought I would show you my favourite animal I have made out of these books, introducing Squidly Dudley

I especially love his cute sailors hat :)

Mothers Day

Heres the present I made my Mum for mothers day this year. It started out as a boring 30p wooden picture frame that I found in ikea, 30 minutes later, a tube of glue and some strips of fabric and you get ..

Yes thats me and my mum looking daft in the picture, please excuse the 3 chins I have :)

The picture frame now has pride of place on her desk at work

after I got sent this picture on the Monday morning after mothers day I get the feeling she likes it

Crochet in progress

Thought I would share a few pictures of a bag I'm crocheting. The pattern is the granny bag pattern from Purple kitty yarns.

Not happy with the saggy pink stitch

Luckily the saggy stitch doesn't show
up too badly in the end

One more round to go and then that side will be finished, just another side, the handles and the gusset to make.
